![]() Daphne's BioDaphne was born and raised in the Appalachian Mountains. She is the daughter of Loretta and Hank, and has four older brothers. Daphne was born eight years after her youngest brother; a surprise to Loretta. Her mother considers her a special gift from God, as Loretta always wanted a little girl but, after several miscarriages, thought she could not have more children.
![]() Daphne at eight months, with Loretta Despite her own limited options, Loretta instilled in her daughter a strong belief that she could be anything she wanted. It was with her mother's help that she entered a local modeling contest and won first prize. The publicity of this contest brought her to the attention of Dawn, who subsequently hired Daphne as a model. Daphne has appeared in many ads and magazines. She recently did several ads for the Milk council. She loves cows and collects bovine-themed items, so this was a dream job for her. She is devoted to her family, especially her papa (a deacon at the local Baptist church). She misses having them nearby. One of the first things she did when she started earning money as a model was to send it back home so her family could remodel their home. Her father played the fiddle when she was a girl, and now Daphne plays the violin. She has appeared in several recitals. She isn't driven to pursue a musical career, however, preferring instead to play for her own satisfaction.
![]() Daphne at a recital Daphne's closest friends are Butch and Connie. She and Butch like to walk their dogs together (Daphne has a dog named Frisky). She visits second-hand stores with Connie, always on the lookout for things to add to her cow collection. Daphne knows Glori (side-part) through her dog; Frisky goes to Ruff Trade for regularly grooming. She lives in Topper Towers in a cozy country-decorated studio. Daphne hasn't been involved with many men (she's shy) but recently Gary set her heart on fire. Disclaimer: These bios apply to the Dawn dolls who live with me--your dolls may have different stories.
