Maureen's BioMaureen was born and raised in Washington, D.C. She is the daughter of a senator and has enjoyed a somewhat privileged upbringing. She was one of the first models to join Dawn's Modeling Agency, discovered in high school. Her look appealed to advertisers seeking an elegant, sophisticated image. Maureen transitioned from modeling to acting after only a couple of years. She appeared in many films--Gone With the Wind being one she is best known for. She also co-starred with Dawn in Thelma and Louise. Ultimately, though, Maureen decided to focus on her studies instead of a public life. Modeling and acting opened her eyes to the pressures women are under to maintain a narrowly-defined image of beauty. She saw firsthand how many young women self-destruct under the unrelenting criticism of these careers. She decided to become a psychotherapist and specialize in women's issues. Maureen moved to San Francisco to attend graduate school, and stayed on after her internship.
