Bio of RonRon (properly, Ron Lawrence) grew up in upstate New York, the only child of Rhonda and Phil Cupboard. Ron had little interest in school, barely making it through to his high school diploma. His interest was in writing stories--mainly science fiction tales--and he had his first story published in Amazing! when he was sixteen. He had a talent for assembling familiar SciFi story components into new, fresh stories. While he gained some success as a novelist in the years following high school, he could not support himself on the royalties. After trying a number of low-paying, dead-end jobs, he became a free-lance feature writer for magazines and newspapers. After a few years, this became a lucrative line of work. But Ron's big break was still to come. He had been writing features about five years when suddenly he released a new book called Dawnanetics. He developed the Church of Fashiontology and applied for non-profit status. His friends were surprised, not knowing where this idea came from (though Gary claims Ron once told him, "The best way to make money is to start a religion.").
The philosophy behind Dawnanetics seems simple. Many years ago, rubbery aliens from the planet Rockflower came and trapped the true citizens of Earth (the Dawns) in a fiery volcano. They refused to release them until the Rockflowers had destroyed the Creator of the Dawns, effectively sterilizing the population. No new Dawn souls could be created. But worse, the Dawns were robbed of their Creator, as well the beautiful and groovy fashions that flowed from this source. And so the struggle began: to maintain a good sense of fashion in light of limited resources. Not to mention, determining who is a Dawn and who is a Rockflower, and taking appropriate action. The main evaluation instrument of Dawnanetics (the Fashion Quiz) and the techniques of wardrobe auditing and facial clearing, have earned Ron L. Cupboard a great deal of money. The book Dawnanetics: Why do you do the groovy things you do has sold millions. Currently, Ron resides somewhere in the U.S. To protect himself from believed Rockflower enemies, he moves around frequently and his residence is kept secret. He spends a lot of time in San Francisco, however, visiting his pals Gary and Van, as well as the models. Disclaimer: These bios apply to the Dawn dolls who live with me--your dolls may have different stories.
