Jim Faraone's Fashion Doll Makeovers: Learn from the Artists (1996)
This book focuses mainly on Barbie doll makeovers, but Jim's tips and instructions are applicable to any vinyl fashion doll. He shows how to completely restyle a doll from start to finish, and also showcases the work of many doll artists. His second book, 2nd Fashion Doll Makeovers (1998) is much more of a showcase than a resource for tips. You can get this book at doll shows or through Amazon.com.

Miller'$ Fashion Doll magazine
The magazine features Barbie and Gene, but also includes features on other fashion dolls, old and new. They often have good restoration tips presented with step-by-step instructions and good photographs. You can find this magazine at larger newsstands and bookstores.
